Body acne is a lot easier to get rid of than face acne. I am not sure why, but many people use body wash for acne and their body acne clears up much more quickly and easily than their face acne. I know for me, the acne I had on my arms cleared up first and my face took a good few weeks for improvement.
So how do you get rid of body acne? The simple answer really is diet. Healthy eating can result in an effective elimination of back acne.
The things that helped me clear up my acne were.
Cutting down/out dairy and meat
Meat and dairy were two major foods that really made my skin flare. I found cheese especially to trigger break outs on my face – so that was the first to go. The meat wasn’t too bad for me, and if I ate lightly I managed to get away with not having out breaks some times, but I chose to cut it out because it wasn’t wondrous for my health anyways.
Eating a low-fat diet
When I started to cut down my fat intake, I saw a dramatic difference in my skin. Fat is very hard for the digestive system to process, so when we eat too much, we put a huge strain on our bodies. This often can result in our body looking for a secondary eliminatory system to help with the toxin overload i.e. the skin. This was something I found somewhat easy to do, but I discovered that I was an emotional eater and have to wean myself off of fat. I used a lot of fatty foods to numb myself, so this was a task that took more than just reduction of fat!
Eating lots of fruit
I found consuming lots of fruit was really helpful for my skin issues. I eat fruit before every meal and as much as I desire. Sometimes I start my day off with a large fruit smoothie, and this is great!
Eating a large green salad daily
Consuming more dark leafy greens has also helped my skin. Greens have all the minerals our body needs so are helpful in healing. I sometimes have my greens in a green smoothie (greens mixed with fruit), or I put a nice sauce over them.
A precise hygiene regime that includes a body wash with antibacterial components, a light yet effective moisturizing lotion and a soft towel to dry your skin with is the bare necessities. It is important to pat the skin dry and not to rub the towel when drying the skin. You must remember that how to get rid of body acne is not as important to persist in your efforts because it is likely that it will take up to 6 weeks to see results.
